Gender and Politics Research Paper Topics - The Importance of Intersectionality

Gender and Politics Research Paper Topics - The Importance of IntersectionalityGender and Politics research paper topics often center on the decision-making process and the relationships that result from a person's gender and their political identity. As we have been able to put an end to discrimination in employment, there is still some measure of discrimination in public life. One major area of discrimination remains that being 'politically correct'.It is therefore important to highlight that there is nothing wrong with a person expressing political correctness. The problem arises when people attempt to advance their careers by questioning the 'inherent' intelligence of a certain group of people. It is also the same problem when it comes to accusing someone else of committing 'racism'sexism'.Gender and Politics research paper topics that focus on the topic of gender will consider the intersection of sex and race. These two concepts are difficult to consider separately because of th e complex inter-relationships between sex and race that results in a situation where most people have to deal with both at some time. Therefore, it makes sense to consider both together.Sex and Race also come up as a part of Class while it is important to understand that these concepts do not fall under the same category. In fact, some would argue that these terms should not be used to refer to the same concept. However, for the purpose of discussion, it would be best to consider these concepts as though they were separate concepts. Here we will look at how race and class affect one another. The term 'race' was originally used to refer to the general classification of people based on the race they were born into, but many people do not understand the difference between race and nationality. Nationality refers to the choice of a country for one to be born in. While it is true that most people will be born into a country or culture, race refers to something that is different. There are however, many differences in terms of skin color and heritage. The majority of people that will be classified as 'white people' are not necessarily white people that have been born in the United States of America. Because of this, it is important to note that one can only be identified as 'white' if they were born in a white country. For example, there are numerous people that identify themselves as 'white', but they were born in a country like India. Therefore, it is important to be aware of these distinctions. Many people have attempted to explain why there are people that claim to be 'white people' but did not live in a white country. Some say that it is because they do not want to belong to a white group. Others say that they could not find any white friends or so called 'white people' in their towns. Still others say that they do not want to identify themselves as white or want to have their ethnicity and race confused with race.Because of this confusion, it is important to poin t out that there is nothing wrong with the concept of race or nationality. The concept of race and nationality is not an ethnic concept as people often assume it to be. It is more of a racial or cultural grouping as opposed to an ethnic grouping.
